Choose your style –
Every private Outlander tour is personalised. Choose a classic “best-of” route, a relaxed local day with less driving, or go fully bespoke—we’ll shape the itinerary around your favourite scenes and locations and what we can fit in!
1) Outlander Icons (Best of the Best)
Perfect for first-timers who want the classic filming locations in one unforgettable day. Expect favourites like Castle Leoch (Doune), Cranesmuir (Culross), Fort William (Blackness) and, time permitting, a stop at Linlithgow Palace (Wentworth Prison).
2) Lallybroch & Local Legends (Less driving, more Outlander)
A relaxed route that stays close to Linlithgow—ideal if you’d rather soak up places than spend the day on the road. Highlights can include Midhope Castle (Lallybroch), Linlithgow Palace, Blackness Castle, Hopetoun House, and scenic viewpoints like the Forth Rail Bridge.
3) Fully Bespoke Outlander Day (Designed Around You)
Tell us your favourite characters, scenes, and “must-see” moments and we’ll build your perfect Outlander day. Want castles + gardens? We can add options like Drummond Castle Gardens when time and access allow, plus extra stops such as The Kelpies or hidden gems along the way.
Your final itinerary will be confirmed based on seasonal opening times, traffic, and your preferred pace.
Meeting Point
We will meet you at Linlithgow Train station (9am April to September. 9:30am from October to March), just 10 minutes from Lallybroch, and a short 20 minute train ride from Edinburgh. (How to book a train ticket)
It is a small station and we are easy to spot as we will have blue or red jackets on with Mary’s Meanders on them and a big sign! We will be standing in the main car park which is the side you disembark from if coming from Edinburgh.
After visiting our last place on the tour, we will drive you back to Linlithgow Train Station at 5pm (4pm approx in Winter) so you can return, by train to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
