You may have seen in the media that there are a number of different movies (Mary Queen of Scots, Outlaw King – Robert the Bruce) being filmed here at the moment. Unfortunately, it does mean that there are some site closures over the next few months.
We will endeavour to add a different location such as Aberdour Castle, Bo’ness Heritage Railway Station but it will depend on availability and timing. It may well be possible to still get a photo of Blackness Castle but that is in the hands of the production company!
We received notification from Historic Scotland about the following locations closures, all dates are inclusive.
Blackness Castle: September 4th – September 18th
Tantallon Castle: September 2nd for 1 day
Craigmillar Castle: August 28th – September 3rd
Linlithgow Palace: August 27th – August 31st
