Born in Edinburgh, I have lived in Scotland all of my life apart from a three year period in London.
My partner Gillian and I live in a beautiful part of the world outside Falkirk with our dogs. We have a woodland area that we are developing at the moment.
My passions are :
The Scotland I love from mountain to loch and beyond, I am a mountaineer and have climbed all of Scotland’s 284 Munros.
We regularly undertake sea kayaking expeditions and spend a lot of our time in the Highlands where we have many friends.
Music has always been an important part of my life and I have played in bands an performed over a number of years playing fiddle, whistles and bodhran. My daughter Eilidh is an accomplished musician and this brings me great joy.
I am of the clan McDonald on my father’s side and Davidson on my mother’s side and have 5 kilts that I wear on various occasions including the Fraser tartan as I am a huge fan of Diana Gabaldon and Outlander.
I have a vast library of books about Scotland its history, people and places. I love meeting people from different parts of the world drawn to Scotland by the magic of Outlander.
