It’s busy busy here at Mary’s Meander HQ but we love it like that! One of the projects we have been working on is a collaboration between The Edinburgh Sketcher, Edinburgh Tour Guides and ourselves.
We are delighted to offer a unique insight into some of the locations from the Outlander books, and those used as film locations, along the Royal Mile.
Don’t just see the locations, draw them. This is completely suitable for those who have artistic genes and for those who have NO drawing skills. Take some time out of your hectic tour schedule, turn off the phone and really immerse yourself in a few key locations, recording the shapes and nuances of the buildings, just as travellers would have done in times gone past.
Mark, the Edinburgh Sketcher will guide you in sketching techniques, and you will have your very own piece of art to take home at the end of the tour. Josh or Sam from Edinburgh Tour Guides will bring you the real history of the locations, and of course, share how it all intermingles with the actual places featured in the Outlander books, and those used as locations for fictional sites.
And to make sure you are well fed before the tour begins, The Serenity Cafe will be offering a special rate for all those coming on the tour. All of us are delighted to be working with a local charity and the cafe has a lovely & welcoming atmosphere.
Sounds fun doesn’t it! To book your spot on the tour click here
Thank you to Edinburgh World Heritage and ETAG for their support with this project.
