On Friday night we hosted 43 guests for our dinner show from Alaska who are touring around Ireland and Scotland. This is not just any typical tour group, it consists of 7 musicians who make up a band called Rogues and Wenches & their fans who happen to be Outlander fans too.
The evening began with Kenny the owner of the Torphichen Inn singing an Irish ballad in honour of St Patrick’s Day, an address to the Haggis and the Calling of the Clans. Dinner was then served, a 3 course meal with music by Glenbervie Folk Band which was the perfect start to the evening.
Then the Outlander inspired part of the evening began – “Disappearances happen all the time…”, for the next 60 minutes the audience enjoyed songs of the Jacobites, an introduction to Piobreachd, some Gaelic with a lot of audience participation.
It really was a wonderful night which concluded with a surprise performance from Rogues and Wenches at the end of Boorach’s set.
Thank you for coming along Rogues and Wenches and we hope to see you again soon!
